Get to Know Sam

What’s your go-to coffee or tea drink?

My go to is always an ice coffee black, the largest size available, no matter the weather conditions.

Which marine animal deserves a shout-out? Why?

This is a tough one, but I’m going to have to go with either sea otters or arctic seals. Did you know that sea otters not only use rocks to help them crack open their food, but when they find a good rock they will save it in a pocket under their forearm to use again and again? As for arctic seals, if you’re ever having a bad day, just watch these guys bouncing around on land. It always brings a smile to my face.

What are you listening to or reading right now?

I am always reading about twelve books at once. You never know when you’re going to be in the mood for comedy, fantasy, history, science, sociology, travel, classics, the list goes on. Some current reads include Chasing Chaos by Jessica Alexander, Fly Girls by Keith O’Brien, and the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

Favorite shows or podcasts to binge?

I love a silly comedy series. I tend to cycle through my favorites including the Good Place, New Girl, Bob’s Burgers, and 30 Rock

It’s Saturday at 2pm - what are you most likely up to?

Depending on the season, I’m most likely basking in the sun with a book, floating on my paddle board at the bay, or on a beautiful hike exploring somewhere new. As long as the weather is cooperating you will find me outside enjoying nature.
