About the Event

Lunch will be provided.

Since 2004, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Association Coastal Ocean Observing System (MARACOOS) has powered ocean and coastal data.

From Cape Cod to Cape Hatteras, buoys, gliders, high-frequency radar, and other technologies provide the information and products needed to make solution-driven decisions for the future of our oceans, coasts, estuaries, and the blue economy.

Hear from leaders in the Mid-Atlantic ocean observing network about how 20 years of MARACOOS data has strengthened hurricane prediction and preparedness, enhanced search and rescue missions, supported fisheries, informed offshore energy development, and ensured public health.

As we commemorate two decades of excellence, innovation, and collaboration, join us for a series of lightning talks that will highlight the impacts of Mid-Atlantic ocean observing systems on East Coast communities, economies, and the environment.

Remarks will be made by the Honorable Frank Pallone, Congressman from New Jersey.
